Inner Wheel Club Blossom Camp - Vattapara

Vattapara is a village close to Trivandrum,Kerala where people are mainly farmers by occupation. A unique endeavour wherein eminent doctors from various private hospitals came together for community service. Organised by the Inner wheel club of Trivandrum Blossom the event was held at CP auditorium, Vattapara on the 15 th of March. The inauguration ceremony was presided by the Inner wheel District Chairman Mrs Shailaja Pankaj and MLA Mr Palode Ravi. The camp was led by Dr Susheela Prabhakaran ( Divyaprabha eye hospital). The villagers who had not heard of the blinding disease glaucoma, were given an awareness talk about the prevalence and impact of glaucoma by Dr Meena Nair of Chaitanya eye hospital. Doctors Ambika Shetty ( Gitanjali Eye and ENT hospital ) and Dr Shalini ( Iris eye hospital) were also a part of the camp. 190 patients were attended and free reading glasses and medicines were given to the needy.
