Dr. Ambika did her MS Ophthalmology from the Government Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, Bangalore from 2006-2009.
She secured the highest marks in the college and stood third in the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in the MS Ophthalmology exams.
She has worked in various hospitals in Thiruvananthapuram such as Chaithanya Eye Hospital-Keshavadasapuram, S.U.T-Pattom and Sri Ramakrishna Charitable Hospital-Sasthamangalam.
She has undergone a 6 months fellowship training in Manual Small Incision Cataract Surgery at Globe Eye Foundation, Hoskote, Bangalore Rural. Here she has performed a large number of surgeries for the needy patients.
She has done a long term phacoemulsification and refractive surgery training at Nethradhama Superspecialty Eye Hospital, Bangalore. She has performed numerous Keyholt (Phaco) surgeries with no-stitch and no-injection technique. She has also performed refractive surgeries such as trans-photo refractive keratectomy, alcohol PRK, custom lasik and Femto lasik.
She is presently a full time consultant at Gitanjali Eye & ENT Hospitals, Thiruvananthapuram. She also works as a honorary consultant at Child Development Clinic, SAT Hospital-Thiruvananthapuram Medical College.
She has presented numerous papers in State & National Conferences.
