Dr. Awungshi Philamazan did her MBBS from Darbhanga Medical College. Thereafter she completed her MS in Ophthalmology from the Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, Trivandrum Medical College 2014-2017. Her passion for Pediatric eye care led her to pursue a specialty in Pediatric Ophthalmology and squint Surgery and Currently, she serves as a visiting consultant in Pediatric Ophthalmology at Gitanjali Eye & ENT Hospitals, Thiruvananthapuram.

  • Currently, she serves as a visiting consultant in Pediatric Ophthalmology at Gitanjali Eye & ENT Hospitals, Thiruvananthapuram, providing specialized care across Trivandrum and Kollam.
  • She has served as a Senior Resident in the Regional Institute of Ophthalmology at Trivandrum Medical College, where she performed numerous sutureless cataract surgeries and efficiently managed both outpatient and emergency ophthalmic services.
  • She completed an 18-month long-term fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Surgery at Comtrust Charitable Eye Hospital, Kozhikode. During this period, she treated hundreds of pediatric patients with various ocular conditions and performed numerous squint correction surgeries.
  • With over 7 years of experience in general ophthalmology and more than 5 years of expertise in pediatric eye care, she is committed to delivering compassionate treatment. Her passion lies in raising awareness about eye health among children and parents, ensuring early intervention and preventive care.
